New Study: Huntsville makes top 10 on 'Bible-minded Cities' list

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – One more list with Huntsville in the top ranks: People in Huntsville are among the most "Bible-minded" in the country, according to the American Bible Society.

Huntsville ranks 9th on the list, not far behind Birmingham, Ala., which came in at number 4 on the list.

Knoxville, Tenn., is at the top.

The top 10 Most Bible-Minded Cities are all in the Southeast.

The 10 Least Bible-Minded Cities, with Providence, R.I., tied with New Bedford, Mass., for the top spot, are mostly in the Northeast, but also include San Francisco, at number 7, Phoenix at number 8 and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at number 9.

The annual survey was conducted by the Barna Group, which looks at 96 geographical regions across the U.S. The full rankings are posted at BibleMindedCities.com. The data was collected with telephone and online random interviews with 42,855 adults over the last seven years.
