Yuba City
A jury convicted Yuba City businessman Gurmukh S. Gill of felony perjury on Wednesday.
Gill, owner of Gill's Auto Sales, was found guilty on one count of perjury and was acquitted of another count in Sutter County Superior Court. Gill is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 14.
The jury found that there was enough evidence presented to prove Gill had lied under penalty of perjury on forms related to vehicle sales submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
A former employee, Leeann Basham, testified in the case Tuesday in a deal with the District Attorney's Office to have her charges reduced or dismissed.
She testified, in part, about a car she purchased from Gill.

Woman arrested on sex charge
A 28-year-old woman is behind bars after a family member allegedly walked in on her engaging in sexual acts with a minor.
Melissa N. McCartney, 28, of Olivehurst, was arrested by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department and booked into Yuba County Jail Tuesday on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child 14 or 15. She has not yet been charged for the crime.
During an interview with investigators, McCartney acknowledged being intoxicated at the time of the incident and made some admissions concerning the allegations, according to law enforcement officials.
McCartney's bail was set at $100,000.
