RENO, Nevada –

49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has gained a lot of attention for his arm, but it’s not just his laser passes that has people looking a little closer at his bicep, it’s what’s actually been inked on.

Nes Adrion, the owner of Endless Ink in Reno, has been put on the map because of Kaepernick’s rise to fame on the field.

“I was pretty surprised. I was pretty amazed by it, because I didn’t really expect it was going to be this big,” Adrion said. He’s been the man behind the masterpieces covering the 49ers Quarterback’s body.

“Him going to the Super Bowl makes more sense to me, because you know he puts money in my pocket,” Adrion said.

But it hasn’t always been about the money for Adrion. He started from humble beginnings, after immigrating to the United States from the Philippines when he was just a teenager. Adrion says he always knew things would get better.

“Growing up here I knew something was going to come up. Something like this,” Adrion said.

While the tattoo artist is now a huge fan of the man his work will forever adorn, he says his favorite team is the New England Patriots.

As for the kiss Colin lays on his bicep during games, better known as ‘Kaepernicking’ now, isn’t actually all about the gun show, it’s actually a tribute to this faith. He’s kissing the biblical scriptures of the Psalms on his arms.

Colin’s adoptive father, who raised him with his wife Teresa since he was just a few weeks old, says for those who don’t like the tattoos, that they are entitled to their own opinions.

“He basically designed those, and they really mean something to him. So, for other people to judge that, well, that’s O.K. That’s your feelings. But for him, they have meaning,” said Rick Kaepernick.

His adoptive mother Teresa, she has the same reaction any mother would.

“I’m fine with his tattoos, had he consulted me I may have said a few less,” she said.
