My brother ordered a Galaxy Note 10.1 from Amazon a couple days ago since he liked mine so much. With prime shipping he received it yesterday - with Android version 4.1.1 preinstalled. I've tested a bunch of features like Air View and multi-window resizing and this is the real deal.

We should all be getting Jellybean VERY soon if it's currently shipping on new tablets.

Addendum:
Someone who also received a 8013 unit with JB was able to dump the ROM! Head over to http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2083517 to check it out. Thanks for all the work guys!

That would be awesome but it's hard to believe considering new phones and tablets almost always need to do an ota when you unpack them!

Well it's true. I was confused as he was getting a notification every time he removed the pen and I wasn't - then I remembered it was implemented in Jellybean and told him to check the version. He should be posting some screen shots shortly.

One Samsung tech support chat guy told me I have to do a factory reset to get it to load and another Samsung tech support chat guy tells me that no Samsung tablets have 4.1.

I'm so confused!!

So do the rest of us just wait for Sam mobile to upload the firmware?

I'd figure that if they've started pre-loading JB, it won't be long before they start rolling out the updates.

Never believe anyone from a Support Service.
I called up a UK Tech Support to ask a question about my 32GB Wifi only N8010, to which the reply was "you are mistaken, there are NO 32GB models available for the UK market".
When I then gave all the details including serial number he simply ignored it, it never existed as far as he was concerned.

I guess so. It seems weird to me that they would install it on new devices before mass-releasing it... But maybe this way they officially meet their Q4 deadline without taking the plunge and releasing it to their entire userbase. This is complete speculation, obviously.

So who is going to go through the pain of a factory reset to see if it works? Any volunteers ?

The next question would be who can walk him through getting the official JB copy from his device that we can all flash?

Lucky guy. I got my note a couple of weeks ago with an ICS kernel from Sept. I suspect many units still shipping are like mine and have ICS not JB.

I picked mine up yesterday from best buy and it didnt come with JB.

You probably got old stock from the pre-holiday/holiday season.

At least we know that Sammy has actually built in jb for the n8013. I have it's just a matter of time until they release it either ota or with Kies.

Well I''ve got a couple of weeks yet to return my unit. I might just do that if the JB update isn't't released by mid-week and just wait to reorder until all shipping units have JB.

Just leave the guy be. This thread, and this site, is starting to get a right precious mob mentality about it. What next, pitchforks at the ready and hunt the guy down. IF anyone wants jellybelly so badly, install the perfectly usable German rom. Otherwise, either wait for Sammy to release it for your device or be happy on ICS. ;)

    Happy hogbeer all :D

how about just not posting on a developer website if you are not willing to be walked through how to dump it. I'm sure these same posters are all about taking work from the devs on here to make their electronics better.

Haven't you noticed the significantly higher percentage of non-technical users on XDA over the past year? When anyone does a search in Google on "discussion" or "problems" for a specific device chances are XDA will be above the fold. It's a developer's site but, in this very forum, there are 5K posts in the development section and 14K in general. I have a lot of patience and go out of my way to help people new to XDA and Android. I have little patience for tech snobs who look down on people that are trying to learn or are fearful of trashing a device they just paid several hundred dollars for. And unlocking, rooting, and ROMing isn't a prerequisite to contribute to XDA the last time I checked. And I'm guessing since XDA is funded by advertising the owners/moderators have no issue with novices joining the forum and driving millions of additional unique's each year.
