Gov. Brown Continues Climate Change MessageSACRAMENTO –

California’s Governor is on a trip to Mexico City this week to meet with Mexican government and business leaders in hopes of boosting bilateral trade and creating opportunities for both sides to find ways to invest money and expand environmental and economic cooperation.

FOX40’s Stefanie Cruz is also in Mexico City and will be reporting from there each night of the trip on FOX40.

The Governor first announced the “Trade and Investment Mission to Mexico” in his most recent State of the State address. He also met with Mexican leaders across California in March. Last week, ahead of the trip, Governor Brown met with Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, in Sacramento and invited Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to meet in California later this year.

Governor Brown announced Sunday he will meet privately with Meade and President Peña Nieto on Monday with the Archbishop of Los Angeles Archbishop of Los Angeles José Horacio Gomez and more than a dozen other religious and diplomatic leaders from Central America on Tuesday to discuss immigration.
