SACRAMENTO-

Porn and church, two things you just don’t think will ever be linked and although it may seem odd to many, that’s exactly what is happening.

Church congregations all over the county are welcoming XXXchurch.com and their “Porn Kills Tour.” The goal of the private Christian based non-profit is to confront the issue of porn addiction head-on.

“Porn is destructive, it destroys marriages, destroys a family,” said XXXchurch.com founder Craig Gross.

The group was in the Sacramento area Friday night for an event. If was held at the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Galt.

“People expect something like this, it’s like oh there is just going to be like five of us that’s uncomfortable, you’ve got a name tag .. who wants to show up to that,” continued Gross.

Gross says porn addiction is one of the most difficult addictions to overcome, but XXXchurch.com is a resource to fight porn addiction through awareness, prevention, and recovery.  The organization has weekly articles on how to conquer difficult issues, as well as porn accountability and filtering software.

“When it comes to porn, you feel so alone, no one is going to understand me, my church is going to kick me out, I might lose my job .. there is so much shame. If you’re struggling with alcohol or drugs it’s hard to hide, with porn it’s right in your back pocket with no one knowing,” said Gross.

The organization launched in January 2002. They have given out thousands of Bibles with “Jesus Loves Porn Stars” on the cover, which is part of their ministry that has been featured by TV affiliates and networks across the country.
