ARDEN ARCADE-

Detectives have arrested a man who allegedly shot at two men inside a car, killing one of them. They believe there is another suspect on the loose.

Joe Miles was booked into the Sacramento County Jail Monday night. Investigators have not released any motive for why Miles shot and killed Marquelle Jones last week.

Jones and another man were inside a car in a neighborhood near the Alta Arden Expressway, when they were hit by gunfire.

The victims made their way toward an In-N-Out restaurant before crashing in the median. The passenger was able to get help, but Jones died from his injuries.

Sacramento County Sheriffs deputies identified Jones as a witness to a deadly shooting outside a barbershop in 2010. That case just recently ended in court with two brothers found guilty.

Deputies say although they have yet to understand the relationship between Miles and Jones, they believe last week’s shooting is not connected to the testimony Jones provided in the 2010 case.
