SACRAMENTO-

Codes of conduct at malls are in the spotlight after a gay couple was asked to leave the Westfield Galleria in Roseville Saturday for showing too much affection.

Less than 20 miles from the Galleria mall, Steve Reed, the chief of security at Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento, tells FOX40 they are very open to alternative lifestyles.

“We are a very diverse mall, we’re very proud of our diversity” Reed told FOX40.

He admitted that malls generally have vague rules and regulations regarding public displays of affection.

“We don’t base our rules on sexual preferences,” Reed said.

Instead, Reed says the rules at Arden Fair are behavioral based. If someone breaks them, no matter who they are, there will be proper actions taken.

“This wouldn’t happen on my watch” Reed told FOX40.
