SACRAMENTO–

The Sacramento Police Department gave 10 area kids a $220 Target shopping spree Sunday morning.

Officers accompanied the kids, in a community building effort to try and show that cops don’t need to be scary.

The kids were chosen by local schools for their good grades.

Even though they could have spent the money any way they wanted, the kids at Sunday’s event showed off altruism above their age – often buying necessities for their families.
