The lukewarm reception to the Stone Roses‘ weekend one headlining set at Coachella has prompted festival organizers to reshuffle the lineup.
The new bill posted on the official Coachella site has fellow British band Blur in the 11:35 slot on Friday night, with Stone Roses playing from 9:55 p.m. to 11:05 p.m.

The outfit fronted by Damon Albarn, who delivered a slew of hits during their main stage bow April 12 to the delight of the thousands of attendees, was more familiar to the crowd in Indio, Calif.
As correspondent Jeff Miller noted in his review for The Hollywood Reporter, the Empire Polo Club field where the fest is held, which normally accommodates a crush of tens of thousands, only had a fraction of the attendees — 5,000 by his count.

“Even many of those curious festivalgoers peeled away as singer Ian Brown and the rest of the band played through stateside obscurities like “Made of Stone” — with Brown’s Planet of the Apes haircut, mooky Manchester affect and incessant jingle-jangling coming across as confrontational rather than inviting,” he wrote.
Blur, on the other hand, clearly made a stronger impression on U.S. audiences with such songs as arena anthem “Song 2” and “Girls and Boys,” both staples of 1990s radio and house parties.
Update: A festival insider tells THR the two bands always were scheduled to co-headline.
