- 2. Greetings from the Leader ● It is intended for this meeting to last 30 minutes or less ● We have a few business items to be covered at this time ● Please follow along with the discussion in the IRC channel as we work through these slides ● Not everything will be covered in the slides alone...
- 3. Item #1 – Appointment of Deputy ● Due to aggravated circumstances the Leader cannot current sign the table contract for Ohio Linux Fest – This primarily relates to complying with government mandates existing in the Leader's personal life – It remains the Leader's intent to be present at the event if at all possible ● It is necessary to seek a volunteer who will be attending Ohio Linux Fest 2013 who can sign the contract for the LoCo in this instance

Item #2 – Further Explanation of Membership Shepherding Program ● Ubuntu “Membership” is a signal mark that shows continuing participation in the community ● Certain benefits also accrue with that, including the ability to vote on the confirmation of nominees to the Community Council ● The number of members of that group on Launchpad seems to show a decline again
- 5. Item #2 – Further Explanation of Membership Shepherding Program ● We need to increase participation in Ohio ● Growing the number of folks holding Ubuntu “Membership” would allow us to have a core cadre of folks who would be able to lead and provide examples to others ● Once we have a comfortably higher number of folks holding Ubuntu “Membership” it will then become appropriate for elections to the Council to take place
- 6. Item #2 – Further Explanation of Membership Shepherding Program ● An extemely early wiki page for people to indicate their wish to participate in this effort can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OhioTeam/Shepherding ● Mentors within the community are desired, where possible.
- 7. Item #3 – Mailing List/Forum/IRC Communications Effectiveness ● Which shall we use? ● Which works best? ● How shall we determine which to use?

Item #5 – Fix The Date For Next Meeting ● Prefer to meet before the next virtual Ubuntu Developer summit which would mean July or early August ● Also need to get in touch with the LoCo Council about when the “Verified Team” status regime takes effect. We may have to have a meeting concerning that at that time. Who can deputize for that?
