Fox has gone deep undercover to pick up Narc, a true-crime project, with Zac Efron attached to star.
Julie and Rick Yorn will produce the film via their Fox-based shingle LBI, while Grant Myers, who is part of the studio’s writing program, is onboard to pen the script.

Narc, described as a college-set Donnie Brasco, centers on an all-American college student who is a big man on campus — president of his fraternity and captain of his lacrosse team. He gets busted by local police when he’s caught with cocaine he was going to distribute at a party.
The police offer him a deal in which he will not be charged if he becomes an undercover informant. He ends up living a double-life while in college, wearing wiretaps and eventually putting away big-time criminals.
Doug Banker, an up-and-coming producer, discovered the story and was instrumental in making the deal. Banker, who is repped by Underground Entertainment, will executive produce via his company All Five in the Fifth along with Jason Barrett.

Matthew Reilly is co-producing.
Efron, who is currently shooting Universal’s The Townies with Seth Rogen, just signed on to the thriller Autobahn with Amber Heard. The project is selling at Cannes. He is repped by CAA and Alchemy Entertainment.
The Yorns’ credits include the Matt Damon drama We Bought a Zoo and the Denzel Washington runaway train thriller Unstoppable.
