SACRAMENTO-

Taejohn Douglas says what happened to him October of 2011, changed his life forever. Douglas was in 7th grade at the time, he says school was out and his principal harassed him.

“He threw me against the car, forced my arm behind my neck and took me to the office,” said Taejohn Douglas, a former student at Martin Luther King, Jr. Technology Academy.

Douglas says he was leaving school for the day on his scooter when he was stopped by Principal Danny Williams.

In the video obtained by Fox40, surveillance video shows what really went down between Taejohn and Principal Williams.

“I ran, he was behind me chasing me yelling at me. He said, where you going.”

In the video; you can see the chase spilled into the school parking lot, but the principal caught up with the then 7th grader.

So far the school district isn’t commenting on what happened. Taejohn’s parents decided to file a lawsuit against the Twin Rivers Unified School District.

The family says their son didn’t deserve this and it has impacted the entire family’s education, even Taejohn’s little sister Shavontae.

“My entire family went to that school, I wanted to go there, but I can’t,” said Taejohn’s younger sister, Shavontae Douglas.

“I have to wake up at 6 in the morning to catch the bus to go to school.”

The family says this would’ve all been resolved, if the principal told the truth from the beginning.

“He said he grabbed him by the wrist, ” said Shun Meeks, Taejohn’s stepfather. ” He was trying to convince me that’s all that happened.”

Attorney Justin Ward is representing the family and says this is happening too often in schools.

“The school district should say  you can’t be a teacher for years if you put your hands on a student,” said Attorney Justin Ward of The Ward Firm.

“If a district says you can’t be a principal  or a teacher if you do touch a child, you will have teachers acting appropriately.”
