Fox 2000 has picked up Highrise, a thriller spec script from Peter Dowling.
Jon Shestack, whose credits include Air Force One and Dan in Real Life, is on board to produce.
The logline is being kept under wraps, but it’s described as being in the vein of the Stephen King story and subsequent movie Misery, this time set in a Manhattan skyscraper.
Dowling has a thing for contained thrillers. He was a writer on the 2005 Jodie Foster thriller Flightplan, which was set on a plane. He also wrote and directed Stag Night, a thriller that took place in subway tunnels.
He is repped by APA, Industry Entertainment, and Abrams, Garfinkel.
