AUBURN –

A man allegedly got into a physical fight with a woman at an Auburn home on Christmas Eve which escalated into him allegedly attempting to run over his son with a car, according to Auburn Police.

It’s currently unclear how the woman is related to the man. She was allegedly injured in a couple parts of her body during the fight and tried making an emergency call while allegedly being attacked. The man, Michael Hernandez, allegedly prevented her from calling, said police.

The woman was eventually able to leave the home, at which point Hernandez allegedly tried to hit her car with his. His son was on a walk in the neighborhood and saw the commotion. Hernandez allegedly tried to run over his son with the car a few times, but missed. Auburn Police said he was under the influence.

Police arrested Hernandez at his home for domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, interfering with a phone, false imprisonment and driving under the influence. He is currently set on a $50,000 bail
