Another player is leaving the Oregon State women's basketball program.

Junior Eisha Sheppard has elected to transfer, Beaver head coach LaVonda Wagner announced Thursday. The guard from Victorville, Calif., played in 22 games last season as a reserve, averaging 2.3 points.

"I appreciate everything Coach Wagner and Oregon State University has done for me; I feel it's best for me to seek opportunities closer to home," Sheppard said in a statement released by the Beavers. "I made the decision for my family and me."

Sheppard came to OSU prior to the 2009-10 season from San Bernardino Valley College in California.

Counting Sheppard, five players and one assistant coach have left the program this spring. Seven players overall have left the 2009-10 roster.

"We wish Eisha all the best in her future endeavors and I sincerely hope that she finds what she is looking for in a program closer to home," Wagner said. "We'd like to thank her for being a part of our team this past season.

In light of the multiple departures, athletic director Bob De Carolis announced last week that he was "examining the status of the program and the welfare of our students."
