UConn focused on game, not streak

STORRS, Conn. -- Top-ranked Connecticut routed Holy Cross 117-37 to open the season Sunday. The victory was the Huskies' 79th consecutive win following back-to-back undefeated seasons. The two-time defending champion Huskies face second-ranked Baylor on Tuesday in a 1-2 showdown. But UConn senior Maya Moore says the Huskies are trying their "best to stay focused on what's directly ahead of us." That is, taking it one game at a time and not worrying about keeping the streak -- which is closing in on the UCLA men's NCAA Division I-record 88 consecutive victories -- alive.
