Women's Basketball Battles Austin Peay; Game Moved to Sunday

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
Fresh off a 76-65 come-from-behind win at Tennessee State Thursday, the Morehead State women's basketball team now travels the short trek to Clarksville, Tenn., to face Austin Peay. Due to inclement winter weather across Tennessee, the game has been moved from Saturday, Jan. 30 to Sunday, Jan. 31.

The Eagles defeated the Lady Govs 79-56 in Morehead on Jan.9 and have won seven of the last 11 games in the series. Overall the series is tied 33-33.

MSU made a season high 36 of 42 free throws at TSU Thursday night, including an OVC and MSU single game record 17-of-17 by junior Chynna Bozeman. Sophomore Courtney Lumpkin made 10 of her 11 free throws as the Eagles rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to score 57 second half points.

Austin Peay is starting to make a move in the OVC standings after a slow start. The Lady Govs are 8-13 overall and 7-3 in the conference, winning five of the their last six overall. Jasmine Rayner leads APSU with 12 points per game. She had 22 points and 15 rebounds Thursday.

The Eagles, with a win, can eclipse the 15-win mark. Only six other MSU teams since 1983-94 have won 15 or more games in a year.

After Saturday's game, MSU returns home to host Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech the following Thursdaty and Saturday.
