Fake Corporate Twitter Accounts You Should Be Following (PHOTOS)

By now you have probably spent the day following the satirical tweets of BP's fake public relations stream, @BPGlpobalPR. With more than 20,000 followers at press time, the cynical response to the oil spill is twice as popular than BP's actual Twitter page, @BP_America.

But BP certainly isn't the only company with angry Twitter doppelgangers. Over the years, Twitter has had to clamp down reported misrepresentations, sometimes within mere days, of companies being mocked on its network. We mourn @ryanairmobile, which tweeted about passengers who smelled "like pee", or Janet the "Exxon Mobile employee" who answered company-directed questions for all of three days. And while not a corporation per se, who can forget when the GOP opened fake Twitter accounts to bash the Dems?

BP, to its credit, has told AdAge that it will not pursue the account's removal. After all, it's probably the most popular BP-branded property nowadays.

Check out some other fake company Twitter accounts while they last!
