The Seawolves made their only run at the Hawks in the later minutes of the half, scoring six-straight, including two baskets from Misha Horsey. The Hawks would answer by extending the lead back to seven, 26-19 before Horsey hit the final bucket of the half with :45 seconds remaining.

The Hawks came out of the break and saw two-straight three pointers from Smith, putting the lead at 32-24. That lead grew in a hurry as the Hawks put together a 14-2 run to go ahead 46-26 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game. The second part of the run saw seven-straight points, including back-to-back three pointers from Smith, the second of which tied her with Danielle Wexler and teammate Mary Silvia for the school record.

The largest lead of the game came on a layup from Ruthanne Doherty as she drove down the lane putting the Hawks ahead 48-36 with 2:51 remaining. Stony Brook scored six of the final eight points of the game, but the Hawks pulled out of Pritchard Gymnasium with their 11th straight win.

Hartford returns home to open the month of February to play its first of five home games in the final month of the regular season. The Hawks will welcome the UMBC Retrievers to Chase Arena on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
