Six to join Western Michigan University's Athletic Hall of Fame

Former Western Michigan University men's basketball player Saddi Washington has been named as one of six athletes to be inducted into the WMU Athletic Hall of Fame in the fall.

Washington, 1994's Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year, is joined by Kina Brown (women's basketball, 1992-95), Chad Babcock (men's gymnastics, 1990-93), Mark Garalczyk (football, 1984-86), Ken Hamlin (baseball, 1955-57) and Laurie Sparling Maierhofer (volleyball, 1984-87).

The induction ceremony is set for Oct. 29 at the Fetzer Center, and the 2010 class also will be honored on Oct. 30 during halftime of the Broncos' football game against Northern Illinois. For ticket information, call Stacy Vallier at 269-387-3062.
