Who is our customer?
Our CVP:  To merchants marketing unique and/or complex products which typically demand a hands on selling experience, our video-based web retail service is a turnkey e-commerce solution that allows the customer to interact with the merchant via streaming video, replacing the in-person sales experience, and leveraging the numerous e-commerce advantages of online shopping.

Our Concept Positioning Statement:  For Internet savvy buyers of specialty products, Vcommerce provides a live, online customer-to-salesperson retail experience, eliminating the need to travel to a physical location either for a unique shopping event or because the merchandise is not easily explained without human interaction.  Vcommerce leverages voice, video and an easy to use web interface, allowing the true features of a product to be experienced as it would in person.

We think there is benefit to replicating the in-person sales experience, but we're trying to better understand which part of that experience is most valuable to the consumer, i.e. eye-to-eye contact, the conversation, body language, emotional connection to another person, the ability to see the product, etc.   What do you think the greatest benefit(s) would be for the consumer who could interact with the retailer via live video?

Do you believe the consumer would prefer two-way video, or would they prefer one-way video streamed only to them?  Why?

We believe this is a two-sided market where the retailer and the end consumer are both possible customers.  We've chosen to focus on the consumer because we believe they will drive the demand for this service, thus forcing the retailers to adopt it.  What do you think about the wisdom of that strategy?
