The Montana State women's basketball team set a new Bobcat record for points in a 107-58 win over Pacific, Wednesday night in Worthington Arena.
“We just had one of those nights where everyone was in the zone,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We couldn't miss in the first half and we were in a great offensive flow.”
Montana State (4-8) shot a blazing 81 percent from the field in the first stanza, connecting on 21-of-26 attempts. The Bobcats cooled off in the second half hitting at a 53 percent clip and finished the contest at 64 percent.
The Bobcats broke away from a 10-all tie at the 16:24 mark of the opening period with a 19-4 run and cruised to a 55-23 advantage at intermission.
Junior Katie Bussey paced five Bobcats in double-digits with a game-high 25 points, including a five-of-five effort from three-point range. Also in double-figures were Lyndi Seidensticker 19, Rachel Semansky 16, Chelsea Banis 13 and Sarah Balian 12.
Sophomore Latisha Adams came off the bench to dish out a game and career-high six assists, while adding eight points and three steals.
“The last two games have done wonders for our confidence,” Binford said. “We've faced a lot of adversity in the preseason and have played two top ten teams, so it was nice to finally put together back-to-back games.”
Montana State won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding Pacific (3-9) 41-27 and was led under the glass by Seidensticker with nine rebounds. The MSU defense also held the Tigers to 37 percent from the field.
Montana State will play at Brigham Young on Dec. 30 in Provo, Utah.
