J-Comi Posted Jubilee Manga by Devil Hunter Yohko's Miyao (Updated)

Miracle Hime Jubilee is 2nd manga uploaded by users, "purified" by authorized ads

Negima/Love Hina creator Ken Akamatsu's J-Comi manga distribution site posted Gaku Miyao's Miracle Hime Jubilee (Miracle Princess Jubilee, 1994-1995), the second title from the site's "Illegal Out-of-Print Manga File Purification Project," on Thursday evening. Under the project, J-Comi "purifies" or legalizes unauthorized scans of out-of-print manga from file-sharing networks by adding advertising to the existing files — with the creators' permission.

Miyao is best known outside Japan for creating the original character designs for the 1990-1995 original video anime series Devil Hunter Yohko. He then adapted the anime into the manga of the same name in 1996. However, during the release of the Devil Hunter Yohko anime, he first drew the Miracle Hime Jubilee manga in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Manga Boys magazine. Tokuma Shoten later compiled and published the manga in one book volume.

Miracle Hime Jubilee's title character, the 531st princess of the planet Keyhole, takes a joyride on a UFO. She lands on Earth, where a boy named Kiichi Masuda inadvertently pulls out the UFO's key and resets the craft — stranding Jubilee. In order to return home, Jubilee and Kiichi must recharge the key's energy in various locks on Earth.

J-Comi posted the first "purified" title, Tetsuya Kurosawa and Hidehisa Masaki's Player wa Nemurenai: The Man Lost in the Network Labyrinth, on Wednesday. The Devil Hunter Yohko anime was the first ever title that the North American anime distributor A.D. Vision released.

Update: Akamatsu announced on Friday afternoon that J-Comi had to suspend the release of the manga "due to circumstances," but J-Comi will try to bring it back quickly. In the meantime, the site will distribute its first light novel Friday evening.
