lol now that just sounds screwed up having two different parts of their lives published at the same time? fail...

and on a side note... aint this gonna be kinda hard on the mangaka?

It isn't two different parts of their lives, as it says the high school manga will focus on Azusa, Ui, and Jun. Yui, Mio, Ritsu and Mugi will be the focus of the college manga.

Anyways I am so so happy that it's going to focus on the girls in college. This is exactly what I was hoping for.

I will watch it if it shows Yui receiving a probation from the university and eventually dropping out with a 1.0GPA and applying a job at McDonalds.

Who am I kidding? I am going to watch it regardless when it get adapted.
Even when I was in crowd, I was always alone

Wait. What.

So they finally resolved the problem of having to deal with 2 separate storylines by actually splitting the manga into 2. Plus there's more money for everybody

This must be the light of paradise to any K-ON! fan.

… Talking seriously, when will it end? This is just asking for a TV adaptation later so nobody can’t say it’s not for milking money “’cause the manga had 4 volumes”. Heck, I something ends let it end for God’s sake. I do like K-ON!, I’m not a hater, but there’s a point in which things get out of control; serializing two manga at the same time it’s crazy.

… Anyway, people, enjoy K-ON! the little milky cow.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

It's only reasonable to milk the cow, yet I wonder how far will it get? The longer a series is drawn out, the likelier it is, that is starts going downhill.

Okay, I didn't really expect it; neither that the mangaka would make a sequel rather than simply put more stories about their high school phase nor this whole parallel serialization stuff. Hope it works.

I didn't think that K-ON would continue after High school, it's part of the reason that I didn't feel like finishing the second season or read the manga.

After seeing this, I may get around to finishing the anime / manga sooner. As for two parallel serializations, that definitely sounds like it would be tough on the author.

Considering how huge K-On is over in Japan, this was bound to happen. Hopefully they don't run the franchise into the ground.

No, it will be rather realistic to have them published as two parts. They aren't "together" anymore even if they do have crossovers occasionally in the new series, their school lives are already going to be completely different and social circles will also change, even within the core of the group at college. Having the stories diverge is what would happen in an actual situation like this.

When you go to college you'll figure this out. ;)

I really like k-on! first season (anime).
I dislike second season :p. Too much moeblob, but still ok.

when K-on! ends (both manga and anime), maybe just I am who hope for : something NEW from kakifly.

Well, I still check this out, anyway.

Well this is just full of LULZ....

http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2011/03/09/k-on-fans-will-run-amok-if-girls-get-boyfriends-at-uni/

Apparently OTAKU are Horrified at the idea that the girls might get boyfriends in college.

I was literally on the FLOOR when I read that article, it's amazing how creepy Japanese Otaku really are.

Boyfriends might bring in the possibility of sex scenes why can't they see that as a PLUS.

I don't really think they will get BF though, first of all they're attending a WOMEN'S university....as in NO MEN ALLOWED university.

Secondly, K-ON! has NEVER been about romance or anything that would lead us to believe that the girls are interested in love.

Lastly, we all know that MIO and RITSU are YURI for each other, so.....maybe we'll have a YURI-ON!.....haha get it...
