The Japanese pop culture convention AM2 announced this week that it will host Kanon x Kanon, a musical act consisting of cellist/vocalist Kanon Wakeshima and An Café bassist Kanon, and the Visual-kei rock band heidi. at its July 1-3 event at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Wakeshima wrote and performed the ending themes to the television anime series Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty. A cellist from a young age, former Malice Mizer star MANA discovered Wakeshima's talent and produced her Japanese debut. Wakeshima made her American debut at Otakon 2009, and performed in California shortly after. Along with the rest of An Café, the bassist Kanon performed "Kakusei Heroism ~The Hero Without A Name~," the second opening theme song for the Darker than Black television anime series, and appeared at FanimeCon in Northern California in 2008. The Kanon x Kanon duo will perform their first joint American concert during the event.

On Wednesday, AM2 announced that it would host the J-rock foursome heidi., who are also making their American debut. The band performed two ending theme songs for the Kaichō wa Maid-sama! television anime series.

AM2 is hosting the World Cosplay Summit regionals, a "Behind the Voice Actor's Studio" Q&A session, and guests Gashicon, IBI, and MINT.
