Crunchyroll to Simulcast Tono to Issho Second Season

The media distribution site Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it will simulcast the second season of Tono to Issho, titled Tono to Issho Gantai no Yabō in Japan. The series will be available to premium members 45 minutes after its Japanese broadcast, which is scheduled to start on Monday, April 4. Episodes will go online at 11:00a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) in the following regions: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Singapore, Brazil, and Portugal. Free users in the same regions will be able to watch each episode one week after its original stream.
Ohba-Kai's original Tono to Issho manga is a 4-panel gag series which follows the humorous exploits of generals during Japan's tumultuous sengoku (Era of the Warring States) period. Its first anime adaptation, an OAV, was announced in 2009, followed by a TV anime announced in 2010. Japanese singer/actor Gackt made a guest appearance as Uesugi Kenshin in the OAV and returned for the first TV series. (Not coincidentally, Gackt played the same historical figure in the live-action drama Fūrinkazan and 2007's Kōhaku Uta Gassen ("Red and White Song Battle") competition.)
Crunchyroll also simulcasted the first season of the TV anime. The second season was green-lit this past September.
