Ugly Betty scene-stealer Becki Newton has been cast in CBS’ Untitled Filgos Project, formerly known as Home Grown.
The multi-camera pilot, from Warner Bros. Television, centers on a blue-collar father whose recently widowed mother as well as his wife, his unmarried daughter and her 12-year-old son all live under the same roof.
Newton, who was supposed to make her return to series television with a starring role in NBC’s romantic anthology series Love Bites this season, will play the part of the grown daughter, Eileen.
Jackie and Jeff Filgo (That ‘70s Show, The New Adventures of Old Christine) will write and executive produce. Andy Ackerman, who is also set to direct pilots for I Hate My Teenage Daughter and Smothered, will direct and serve as an executive producer.
Newton is repped by The Gersh Agency and Management 360.
