I think Jim is being unfairly portrayed as a villain.
Although what can you expect? As this is a show primarily for entertainment.

I think there is some talent there but Jim's not channeling it effectively. Some successful negotiation in early weeks has gone to his head a bit I reckon and has made him stubborn. He now won't budge on any deal - we saw evidence of that last week when he was quite aggressive whilst negotiating with the builder (and got nowhere), and again tonight when he was completely inflexible during the initial pitch.
Other than that, I think Jim is a do-er, he's perceptive and he can manipulate people (which can be a good and a bad thing).
Like this week 'Zoe came up with the name' as if it's her fault compared to two weeks ago 'I just came up with the name' as if it's Vincent's fault for backing him.
And 'I don't think you should choose me' to 'PMs decision is final, Glenn!'
I agree with you
Susan really gets these tasks. She has flashes of perception, but lacks the confidence to force the issue.
I think this is shown in the editing, though.
And I love Jim.
Yes I totally agree with you and think that you are spot on. Susan has disagreed with many things in the last few weeks but the others do shout her down and I agree that I think that they do it because she is the youngest and they think that they will get away with pushing her around and making her the scapegoat! I am so glad that Nick backed her up this week and repeated what she had said about Jim having to cut his prices. Jim really tried to lie himself out of that fact!
I thought that she done really well in the boardroom this week and stood her ground. But she now has to be PM and be more authorative and positive and also do a pitch at some point!
I think that for a 21 year old she is great and I really do want her to come out of her shell now!

Yes, I totally agree! Jim started off great but he has got stubborn and thinks that hes always right. I think that Jim needs to revert back to how he was in the beginning!
Yes, I agree, Jim was also my favourite at the beginning but he has not helped himself with Sir Alan, with putting the blame on others in the boardroom and talking himself out of being brought in a couple of weeks back!
Jim thinks he's the master and is untouchable! This task will have brought him back down to earth again, I hope, because he's a charming, eloquent guy and I don't think those qualities should be underestimated in business.
I was looking at the body language of the woman they pitched to (who appeared on You're Fired), and it was much more positive when Jim was presenting to her, than when Natasha was. He has a somewhat hypnotic effect on people.
Firstly I agree with a lot of what you said, but I don't buy into this 'he can manipulate people' business. Despite him practically admitting it on the show there isn't any evidence at any time that he's used manipulative powers in any way - just uses perfectly logical reasoning, takes an authorititive tone, and people just go along with it.
I think that Dara's early labelling him as 'Jedi Jim', and particularly the mob psychology of you're fired this evening + the commedienne calling him evil is just building up an unfair reputation of him.

I agree. I don't think he's very talented and he has a horrible personality.
I think it is true that Susan often doesn't get her voice heard when she is right, but the amount of times (particularly in earlier tasks - not so much now) she has got it wrong has dwindled her confidence.
She reminds me of Lorraine - series 5. Heard when she is wrong and ignored when she is right.
He's definitely talented - his negotiation skills at the beggining were far better than anyone elses - the reason why he failed negotiations the last few tasks is due more to not understanding the market. Also his very eloquent with answering questions on the spot.... as he did after Leons awful pitch in the app task, and also in answering questions in this tasks. You may not like him personally, but talented, he is.
Yes that is a very good analysis of Susan and I also think that her confidance has been dashed from the likes of Zoe shouting her down and I also think that Edna did early on as well!
He has made more poor decisions than good ones. His negotiation skills certainly let him down this week.

I think that in the early task he was spot on but tonight he was way off the mark and did not get the task at all. As much as I dont like Zoe, she was right about the Hip being taken completely differently to what Jim realised and Jim lost the connection completeley and made it too old fashioned and his negotiations were shocking with Susan telling him that he should slash his prices. But wouldn't out of stubborness!
Jim was very, very lucky not to have gone tonight and I think that Sir Alan only kept him there for another couple of weeks for pure entertainment and he knew that Glen would not fit in with his organisation anyway!
However I would like to see a nicer, softer side to Tom before he gets the elbow.
I completely agree. I think Jim is only there for entertainment. It will certainly make good telly when he gets ripped apart in the interview process. Glen didn't deserve to go. I was surprised to see Jim attempt to get away with bare faced lies. "I realised the potential in cutting our prices and decided to discuss this with the team. Susie, you didn't say anything about that, it was all me!":eek:

Completely agree. He doesn't manipulate so much as use the agressive wide-eyed stare whilst speaking in a reasonable tone-Karen had him to a tee, he is passive aggressive but not in the therapy-speak version of it. Jim might get few pence knocked off his weekly shop in the market but thats not the same as having "negotiating skills"
He completely failed to read the signals he was being given by the first agency as he was so focused on getting his own way- a very poor negotiator imo and he doesn't half think highly of himself despite the fact that he has splinters in his arse from sitting on the fence so he cant be blamed for anything.
I know lying isn't very good when it comes to morals etc... but you say it as if all the other contestants havn't lied at all. A number of them have changed their tune when project managers have lost and Susan herself lied when she said she put herself forward for the pitch in the boardroom, when I recall she said she 'thinks Jim should do it'. I also remember her trying to get herself out of blame when she seriously overestimated in the beauty task. In that respect, Susan and Jim are fairly alike.
