"昔、アメリカでこんな話があった。
ある母親が、中学生の娘が、夜によく外出するのに気付き、どこに行っているのか尋ねると、娘が言うには、数学の宿題が出来なくて困っていた時、近所に数学の偉い先生がいると聞いたことがあるのを思い出し、ためしに、その先生の家に行って、数学の宿題を手伝ってもらえないかと頼んでみたら、喜んで教えてくれたのだが、その教え方が学校の先生よりずっと分り易いし、いつでも来ていいと言うので、宿題が出来ない時はその先生のところに行っているのだという。
そして、その先生の名を聞いて、母親は卒倒しかけた。当時、アメリカに亡命していた、アルベルト・アインシュタイン博士であった。
すぐに母親はアインシュタイン博士のところに謝罪に行ったが、アインシュタインは「いえ、私の方が多く教わっていたのです」と答えたという。"
