Actually, all the above proves is that a prideful human being can't force God to do his will, or try His patience beyond it's breaking point. The Interface

However, perhaps you really aren't free, and your decision, one way or the other, is an inevitable result of the blind forces and electrical impulses in your brain, free will being an illusion.SCheesman

How do you know that?
Good question... it depends on what you mean by "know", and which parts of my statement it applies to. 1) Of course, I am assuming, for the sake of argument, that there is a God... that part is certainly by faith, or reasonable inference. You are free to reject the rest of my statement, should you disagree at this point. 2) Given 1) then obviously it is true that God does not, as a matter of course smite people who ask for it, otherwise, there would be a substantial amount more smiting going on. Given 1), then I think this is the part you can "know" in the most traditional sense. 3) The part about God being merciful I take on faith, as a reasonable explanation of the lack of smiting. I did qualify that as "likely", and here, perhaps, I am being hopeful, since the alternatives, God being either indifferent, or absent, or arbitrary or unjust, go against my belief in a just, omnipotent and loving God. From my perspective God seems to have taken quite a long time, and gone to an enormous amount of trouble, to make it possible for me to be here having this conversation with you, and so I draw the conclusion that He indeed does care about us in a rather proprietary way. Many have thought otherwise, I know, but I prefer to believe we are in a universe with purpose, meaning, and hope.SCheesman

God Himself is more merciful, and does not tend to smite those who ask for it, likely as a matter of principle.

Very funny. Seriously, though, by the same logic he could say "any member of the audience could draw a gun and shoot me, shoot me now!", and then conclude that nobody in the audience has a hidden weapon, because no one shot him. By denying God, Lawrence Kraus smites himself. God Himself is more merciful, and does not tend to smite those who ask for it, likely as a matter of principle.SCheesman
