Billy the Kid tintype sets new auction record

It seems as if it was just yesterday that a new record was set for a 19th century photograph. Oh wait, it was just a few days ago that a Le Gray sold for USD $1,305,000. That didn't last long. Yesterday, William Koch, a brother of billionaires Charles and David Koch, of the politically active members of an oil-and-gas family purchased the only known image of Billy the Kid for a staggering 2.3 million (USD) or 2.6 million with commission.
