Game of Thrones is adding some feature heft behind the camera for its upcoming second season.
The Descent writer-director Neil Marshall will direct an episode during Season 2 of HBO’s epic period drama. The episode will mark his TV directing debut.
Marshall, whose credits include features Doomsday and Centurion, joins Alan Taylor, Alik Sakharov, David Petrarca and David Nutter as directors for the upcoming season.
Taylor (Boardwalk Empire, The Playboy Club) directed the final two episodes of Season 1.
Nutter has a history of stepping behind the camera for HBO, directing episodes of Entourage and The Pacific.
Sakharov worked as a cinematographer on Thrones’ first season as well as on HBO’s The Sopranos, Sex and the City and Rome. His directing credits include episodes of Brotherhood.
Petrarca’s directing credits include HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, True Blood and Hung.
