| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team announced the addition of Drake University transfer Angela Christianson Wednesday afternoon.

Christianson played 21 games last season for Drake University, averaging eight points and 3.8 rebounds per game, but is also known in the area for her high school career at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Minn., where she averaged 25 points and seven rebounds per game.

“Angela brings us experience, scoring and size,” said head coach Karla Nelson.  “She is a great addition to our team that we're all really excited to have on our team.”

A four-year starter for Jefferson High School, Christianson holds the record for most points in a game with 54 and is the all-time leading scorer with 2,286 points.

She was named to the 2010 Minnesota All-Star Team and was also selected to the Associated Press All-State Second Team for 2007-08 and Honorable Mention in both 2008-09 and 2009-10.
