Patty Young’s Booth at Quilt Market
Dear Friends,
Patty Young’s new Mezzanine fabric line was inspired by her travels throughout Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. As the daughter of an architect, Patty had special appreciation for many of the structural elements she saw in the many cathedrals, castles, and other historical buildings she visited.
The fabulous stonework, ironwork, gardens, and other elements that influenced Patty are brought to life in vibrant color in her new fabric collection.
And don’t forget to check out Patty’s patterns — as you can see from her booth at Quilt Market (photo above), they are adorable made up in the Mezzanine fabrics!

We love the effect Patty created with the pillows she made from some of the Mezzanine fabrics.
My favorite is the pillow on the left which appears to be made from small blocks made with the stained glass medallions from fabric DC4129 appliqued on top of various colors of fabric DC4134.
For something really easy, you can also just make a patchwork pillow out of strips — as in the pillow on the right.
For other pillow ideas we recommend Valori Wells’ new pillow pattern, Jewels for the Home (below left), or her Oh Sew Easy® Pillows book (below right).

Patty Young has been really busy — in addition to her new fabric line, she recently released two new patterns: Sydney (below left) & Sophie (below right).

She recently posted pictures of her new basement studio and I had to be careful not to drool on my keyboard — what a wonderful setup she has!
