“Am so proud to be from St. Kitts” …Infamus sings tribute to Relay boys

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONLY weeks after releasing his hard hitting single ‘Cry From De Ghetto’ Infamus is at it again with a song which was done as a tribute to the relay boys.

The self- written track was released Monday (Sep. 19) for the Federation’s Independence Day and the ‘riddim’ was produced by Antoine ‘Zaggadon’ Adams who was also a member of the relay team.

According to Kervin ‘Infamus’ Benjamin, this was his way of paying tribute to the relay team which consists of Antoine Adams, Jason Rogers, Delwayne Delaney, Kim Collins and Brijesh Lawrence who placed third in the world at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

In the song, which could easily become an anthem for Kittitians, he sings, “Am so proud to be from St. Kitts, our land of beauty. Am so proud to live to see, we’re growing into what we ought to be”.

He said the song was also his way of commemorating Kim Collins’ long standing career and letting him know he is his hero.

A few weeks ago Infamus released ‘Cry From De Ghetto’ a song which shows a different side of the artistes and has been receiving much airplay and recognition for its hard hitting lyrics, which represent the voices of the ghetto.

He also released a mixtape with nine tracks earlier in August at his second annual Summer Splash held in his home town.

Infamus is one of the Federation’s top local artistes and is best known for a number of popular songs including ’21 Gun Salute’, ‘It’s My Life’, ‘Sometimes I Feel Like Crying’ and ‘Tell Me Why’.
