GRITTING teams were out in Gloucestershire last night after about 1cm to 2cm of snow fell during yesterday evening.
Gloucestershire County Council's gritting teams were due to be gritting key routes from about 3am in advance of temperatures dropping below freezing.
With some freezing rain falling around midnight GCC warns that road conditions are likely to turn very icy this morning.
Motorists are advised to take care and leave extra time for their journeys. The council is monitoring the weather and making decisions as information comes in.
It is expected to warm up today with some thawing but will turn very cold again tomorrow and early next week.
