Nationwide Rallies Call for Lee’s Head

Mass rallies have been held in each North Korean province to denounce the current South Korean administration, following on from a 100,000-strong combined military and civilian rally held in Pyongyang on Monday.

Both Chosun Central News Agency (KCNA) and Rodong Shinmun, the mouthpiece of the Chosun Workers’ Party, reported on the rallies today, calling them the beginning of a crusade to visit revenge upon the South Korean administration.

Writing about the rallies, the media proclaimed, “Our retaliatory crusade is one that will completely sweep away the rebel traitors, with whom we will never be able to coexist, and achieve the historical feat of the reunification of the motherland!”

“It is the conviction and fortitude of our military and people to respond to provocations with resolute punishment, and to war with a merciless crusade of revenge,” they continued.

“Having heard statements from the spokesmen of Chosun People’s Army High Command and the government of the Republic, workers from every class, unable to withhold their rising rage at the hysterical, rash behavior of the Lee Myung Bak faction, are resolving to embark as one on a crusade of revenge against the rebel traitors,” they also described breathlessly.

According to the reports, agricultural merchant Lee Gyeong Shik declared, “Anybody who insults our Republic’s system and dignity will never be able to live on this land or under this sky, and, just as we have already warned, with a crusade of the entire military, the entire people, the entire nation, we will wipe the rebel traitors from this land!”

Vice-Chairwoman of the Chosun Union of Democratic Women Central Committee, Kim Myeong Sook was quoted as saying, “The women of Chosun will bring the iron hammer of revenge down upon the head of every traitor, continuing this sacred fight until the very last of those individuals is gone.”

Chairman of the North Hwanghae Province People’s Committee Lee Won Il and Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences Lee Seong Ook warned, “The enemies need to understand very well that the resolve of our military and people is never mere empty words. On the basis that the Lee Myung Bak rebel faction has proved its willingness to go to war with us via such extreme provocations, our army and our people are mobilized to respond to provocation with resolute punishment, and war with a crusade of merciless retaliation.”

Turning to earthier phraseology, Lee Mun Chang, the head of a construction brigade working on the development of Heecheon Thermoelectric Power Plant said, “The only thing we are preparing for those bastards who would wag their fingers impertinently at the sky in rejection of our dignified socialist system is the people’s stern iron hammer.”
