WASHINGTON DC YOUTH FORCE PRE-CONFERENCE Presentation/Workshop Application

The Washington DC YouthForce and the AIDS 2012 Youth Programme are organizing a Youth Pre-Conference open to young people who will be attending the XIX International AIDS Conference.   The Pre-Conference will take place July 18th –20th 2012, at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. It will include informative sessions and skills-building workshops on topics related to HIV/AIDS, ranging from scientific knowledge to effective political advocacy.  If you are interested in presenting at the youth pre-conference, please submit your application! 


Please note that in order for your application to be considered, you must be a registered conference delegate  with guaranteed support to attend the XIX International AIDS Conference (IAC) or a local youth delegate attending the IAC and/or Global Village. 


Please keep in mind that many pre-conference youth participants will have varying levels of formal education, skills sets, and knowledge bases. Young presenters will be prioritized but adults are also welcome to submit proposals. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review.


 


NOTE: PLEASE FILL OUT SEPARATE APPLICATIONS FOR EACH WORKSHOP YOU ARE PROPOSING. 

APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILLED OUT IN ENGLISH AND ALL PRESENTATIONS MUST BE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH


IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO PRESENT AT THE YOUTH PRE-CONFERENCE, YOU MUST STILL SUBMIT A YOUTH PRE-CONFERENCE PARTICIPANT APPLICATION.

SUBMIT EACH APPLICATION by midnight ESTMay 11th.

Pre-Conference objectives:

1. To provide technical information, skills and capacity building in the political, scientific, economic and social context of HIV and AIDS to youth leaders (ages 15 to 26) and support their effective engagement at  the XIX International AIDS Conference.
 

2.  To empower youth leaders through information, advocacy, and relationship-building to be advocates for youth at the main conference, and to work effectively in their home countries and internationally for an end to HIV and AIDS.
