Camp Bisco Taps Skrillex, Bassnectar to Headline 2012 Festival
The Disco Biscuits, Skrillex and Bassnectar will headline the 11th annual Camp Bisco festival, taking place on July 12th through 14th at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York. As always, the event will be hosted and anchored by the Disco Biscuits, who will headline each night of the three-day fest.
The band founded Camp Bisco in 1999 with the goal of merging live improvisational rock with electronic dance music. (Their own combination of the two genres led them to dub their style “trance-fusion.”) While the Disco Biscuits still anchor the festival – this year, they’ll perform six full sets over the course of its three days – Camp Bisco now boasts some of electronic music’s biggest DJs and producers. In addition to return appearances by Skrillex and Bassnectar, this year’s event will feature DJ sets from Amon Tobin ISAM, Shpongle Presents The Masquerade, A-Trak, Dada Life, Mimosa, Daedelus, Simian Mobile Disco and Bonobo. Live sets by Crystal Castles, Big Gigantic, Lotus, Holy Fuck and Brothers Past will round out the bill.
In recent years, Camp Bisco has expanded its scope to include some hip-hop and indie-rock heavy hitters. Those slots will be filled this year by Big Boi, Atmosphere, Break Science with Chali 2na, Portugal. The Man and El Ten Eleven.
Sprawled across 200 acres of rolling hills about 30 minutes outside of Albany, the festival grounds will host two main stages, multiple late-night dance tents, a silent disco, food and craft villages. A band-fan “color war,” in which members of the Disco Biscuits compete alongside fans on four color-coded teams, is an annual daytime tradition.
The full Camp Bisco lineup of 100-plus performers will be available on the festival’s official website today at 12 p.m. ET.
