Hi guys,

Read this first!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 */

I found this device section with stock firmware, so this step was easy for me to make CWM recovery.
I have compared the pitfile from Note to Galaxy S II, the partition names are the same.
I know for sure the partition size aren't xD
I don't know the download counter of reset jig works, maybe you can't set the counter back on 0 ...
You flash this via Odin, the one included by stock firmwares.

Root
For root, flash this via CWM: http://goo-inside.me/superuser/Superuser-3.0.6-efgh-signed.zip

Sources
The sources are the Samsung ones, the initramfs is also Samsung ones, with my own compiled CWM.

Features
- CWM 5
- Init.d support
- EFS backup - check /hidden with rootexplorer!

More coming soon!

Enjoy!

Maybe different in partition size, but the numbers are the same.
That is good news as the recovery.fstab from Galaxy S II is usable for Note.
I dont need to configure all over again.

BTW, the kernel is getting compiled :D

CWM kernel works just fine. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately rooting via zip file didn't (states that it does everything and superuser is installed but root explorer is not recognized as root aquiring application).

Any ideas netchip?

    Hi netchip,

    your kernel may affect the Mobile Wifi Hotspot. I can not successfully start tethering "error".

    A user in another forum says it works fine with stock kernel. Have you any idea what the reason could be?

    And you are only 12 .. Must be on harvard allready ....

    But keep it going man !!! Make this device rock!!

    Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App

    This device is much better than galaxy nexus.
    Much quicker, bigger screen.
    And it get also AOSP :D I am busy with porting CM7.

    ....so....

    flash CWM with Odin
    http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=765060&d=1319883018
    and then flash superuser
    http://goo-inside.me/superuser/Superuser-3.0.6-d-signed.zip
    with zip in CWM recovery and the root is OK for the Notes...???

    is right the procedure?
    Yes, your device is then rooted ;)
    You do it the good way :D
    If it goes wrong you flash stock firmware via Odin WITHOUT repartition, efs clear, nand lock etc.
