1. Why did Jehovah’s Witnesses properly worshiped Christ Jesus until 1954?
  2. If all that was made was made through Logos(John 1:3) and for him( Colossians 1:16, Romans 11:36), why add word “other/s” in Col 1:15-17?
  3. Was Jehovah God without wisdom before creating him(Proverbs 8:22-31) ?
  4. If firstborn means first created, then what does firstborn of the dead mean?( or what does Israel(Exo. 4:22) and Ephraim(Jer. 31:9) being firstborn mean?) Could not Paul use firstborn in Messianic sense? (Ps 89:27 “I will also appoint him my firstborn (πρωτότοκον), the most exalted of the kings of the earth,”
  5. Why is Christ Jesus calling himself the first and the last?(Revelation 1:17-18)
  6. Was early Christians’  understanding of Jesus as God, from A. D. 30-250, wrong?
  7. If Jesus is a lesser god because he is only Might God(Isaiah 9:6), would that not make Jehovah God also lesser god since his  is also called Might God(Isaiah 10:20-21)?
  8. If Only-begotten(John 3:16) means Jesus was Jehovah’s first creation, how then do we explain Isaac(Hebrews 11:17) being the only-begotten of Abraham and not Ishmael?
  9. Why did God, in Genesis 1:26, said let us make man in our image(God’s image, not angel + God)?

12 Questions I Found Useful Asking Jehovah’s Witnesses

  1. Hi. Here is my answer with the word “firstborn”. http://fromthesunrising.wordpress.com/2010/09/14/the-truth-in-colossians-11617/ and read Revelation 3:14 which states that the true witness is the beginning of creation of God. The Greek word used there is “arche” and all of the word “beginning” in the Greek scriptures uses the same word as “arche” thus it should be properly translated as “the beginning of creation of/by God” and not “origin” or “source” as what other bible translators are trying to impose to hide the true meaning of the word.

  2. I am not a JW but want to give some answers as well:

    3. Jehovah did not create himself; Jehovah God is a Spirit who has ever been = He had no beginning and no end. All Wisdom has and is by the Creator of all things Jehovah God.
    2. It looks like you are confusing Jesus with God the Elohim Hashem Jehovah with your 2nd question: the world is created by God, for God and for the creatures. Jesus is part of and the beginning of the New Creation: “If all that was made was made through him (John 1:3) and for him( Colossians 1:16, Romans 11:36), why add word “other-allos” in Col 1:15-17?” In 4 yourself gives the answer.
12 The Epsitles and Acts of the Apostles give with civil writings a clear picture who honoured who.
    11. Jehovah God, Allah, is the God of gods, and when you read the Aramic, Hebrew and Greek texts it is very clear how Thomas expressed himself and did not pray or honour Jesus, in the way you seem to present. Accepting Jesus as your saviour and the Messiah does not mean that you honour him as The Almighty God.

    • Thanks for the Answers Marcusampe.

      Question 3:
You are very correct stating “Jehovah did not create himself; Jehovah God is a Spirit who has ever been = He had no beginning and no end. All Wisdom has and is by the Creator of all things Jehovah God.” but I believe you missed the question:

Was Jehovah God without wisdom before creating him(Proverbs 8:22-31) ?

JW use this verse to claim that Jesus(wisdom) was created. The Question is was God without wisdom/Jesus before He create it?

Acoording to your answer, namely God has all wisdom, this entails that God always has wisdom.

      Question 2:

You also did not understand question 2. I asked:

If all that was made was made through him(John 1:3) and for him( Colossians 1:16, Romans 11:36), why add word “other-allos” in Col 1:15-17?

Everything that was of created-category was made through Jesus and they were all made for Jesus.

Brilliantly I would quote for you Hebrews 1:8-12 ESV

But of the Son he[Father] says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, he scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”

After the Father commanding all angels to worship his Son(Hebrew 1:6), he went on to call his Son, God and call himself his God and beautiful add that his Son laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are his Son’s work.

(NWT gets it wrong claim God to be Jesus’ throne. God is not a throne but one who sits on the throne.)

I am asking why all “allos” Greek Other which is not found in Col 1:25-17 since it change the meaning completely. (E.g. I love all ice-cream and I love all other ice-cream)

Moreover Isaiah 37:16 says that “O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.” and 45:18 “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens,(he is God!), who formed the earth and made it(he established it;he did not create it empty,he formed it to be inhabited!):“I am the Lord, and there is no other.” If God Jehovah alone made the universe, and the Bible show that the Father made the universe, and the Son made the universe and the Holy Spirit made the universe in a way that the Father spoke, Logos created and kept, and the Holy Spirit give life then I do agree with Christians since ca. 150’s claim that our One and Only God Jehovah God is a triune God.

      Question 12:

I did not ask what The Epistles and Acts of the Apostles state but why the historical documents show that the first Christians and Apostolic Fathers prayed and worshiped Christ Jesus as God?

      Question 11:

Thomas, a Jew confession gives no escape, my dear friend. He is quoting LXX Psalm 34:23(Greek version of OT used in Jesus’ time N.B: its 35:23 in our English Bibles) and apply it to Jesus showing that Thomas called Jesus his God and his Lord as David called OT Jehovah.

      Thank you for your answers.

      In Christ,
      Prayson

    • Thanks Daniel,

I added some possible answers that they could give you and how to respond to them.

Question 1. They could said you have misquote or Jesus was not really worshiped: Here are the documents you can present to them from Watchtower magazines. Jesus was properly worship on earth: Watchtower 1898, All who worship Jehovah’s must was also worship Jesus(Jehovah’s chief One) also: Watchtower 1945, “He was the object of unreproved worship even when a babe, by the wise men who came to see the new-born King” Zion’s Watch Tower 1880 Oct pp.2-3 :

“Jehovah God commands all to worship Christ Jesus because Christ Jesus is the express image of his Father, Jehovah, and because he is the Executive Officer of Jehovah always carrying out Jehovah’s purpose (Heb.:3-6).” Watchtower 1939 Nov. 15 p.339, continued Rutherford( took over after Charles T. Russell)

“Now, at Christ’s coming to reign as king in Jehovah’s capital organization Zion, to bring in a righteous new world, Jehovah makes him infinitely higher than the godly angels or messengers and accordingly commands them to worship him. Since Jehovah God now reigns as King by means of his capital organization Zion, then whosoever would worship Him must also worship and bow down to Jehovah’s Chief One in that capital organization, namely, Christ Jesus, his Co-regent on the throne of The Theocracy.” Watchtower 1945 Oct 15 p.313 continued Knorr (took over after Rutherford)

Knorr amended the Watchtower’s legal Charter in 1945

“”The purposes of this Society are: To act as the servant of and the legal world-wide governing agency for that body of Christian persons known as Jehovah’s Witnesses to preach the gospel of God’s kingdom under Christ Jesus unto all nations as a witness to the name, word and supremacy of Almighty Good JEHOVAH; to print and distribute Bibles and to disseminate Bible truths in various languages by means of making and publishing literature containing information and comment explaining Bible truths and prophecy concerning establishment of Jehovah’s kingdom under Christ Jesus to authorize and appoint agents, servants, employees, teachers, instructors, evangelists, missionaries and ministers to go forth to all the world publicly and from house to house to preach and teach Bible truths to persons willing to listen by leaving with such persons said literature and by conducting Bible studies thereon to improve men, women and children mentally and morally by Christian missionary work and by charitable and benevolent instruction of the people on the Bible and incidental scientific, historical and literary subjects to establish and maintain private Bible schools and classes for gratuitous instruction of men and women in the Bible, Bible literature and Bible history; to teach, train, prepare and equip men and women as ministers, missionaries, evangelists, preachers, teachers and lecturers to provide and maintain homes, places and buildings for gratuitous housing of such students, lecturers, teachers and minister; to furnish gratuitously to such students, lecturers, teachers, educators and ministers suitable meals and lodging and to prepare, support, maintain and send out to various parts of the world Christian missionaries, teachers and instructors in the Bible and Bible literature and for public Christian worship of Almighty God and Christ Jesus; to arrange for and hold local and world-wide assemblies for such worship to use or operate radio broadcasting stations for preaching this gospel of the kingdom; and to do any and all other lawful things that its Board of Directors shall deem expedient for the purposes stated.”(bold added)

When they today quote this amendment they do the put …: Example ” – public Christian worship of Almighty God …” they removed “and Christ Jesus”.

They can not escape this mountain of evidences that showed that the first Jehovah’s witness worship Jesus.

Question 2: Press the idea that everything is created by(through) him and FOR him. Moreover the added word “other” Greek allos change completely the meaning of the text. Show them the different to which that word brings to the text. Example: “I love all people” and “I love all other people” are so different.

Question 3: They claim that Jesus(wisdom) was created using Proverbs 8:22-3, ask them does that mean that God was without wisdom before creating it.

Question 4: Show them that there is a big difference between First created: prōtotoktistos and firstborn: prōtotokos

The Greek term πρωτότοκος (prōtotokos) could refer either to first in order of time, such as a first born child, or it could refer to one who is preeminent in rank. M. J. Harris, Colossians and Philemon (EGGNT), 43, expresses the meaning of the word well: “The ‘firstborn’ was either the eldest child in a family or a person of preeminent rank. The use of this term to describe the Davidic king in Ps 88:28 LXX (=Ps 89:27 EVV), ‘I will also appoint him my firstborn (πρωτότοκον), the most exalted of the kings of the earth,’ indicates that it can denote supremacy in rank as well as priority in time. But whether the πρωτό- element in the word denotes time, rank, or both, the significance of the -τοκος element as indicating birth or origin (from τίκτω, give birth to) has been virtually lost except in ref. to lit. birth.” In Col 1:15 the emphasis is on the priority of Jesus’ rank as over and above creation (cf. 1:16 and the “for” clause referring to Jesus as Creator).

Question: 7 Show them that in English one can mistake that Might God and Almighty God shows the levels of power but they are two different words with two different meaning:

      Might God (ēl gibbôr)

Gibbôr means warrior, thus the metaphor of el gibbôr denotes God our warrior. In deed this term could also be translated as mighty, strong, powerful and hero.

      Almighty God(ēl shadday)

Many scholars believe that Shaddai(Phonetic Pronunciation:shad-dah’ee) is derive from shad Hebrew for “breast”. This metaphor implies God as a satisfying, nourishing and supplying to Israeli nation as the mother does to her child. El Shaddai thus stand for God our sustained.(some scholars believes shaddai comes from Šadu, an Assyro-babylonian word for “mountain”, thus El Shaddai would stand for God our strength and power)

I hope that everything will go well. If you have questions or in need of more materials, just let me know.

      God bless you,
      Prayson

  3. Thanks for publishing these insightful questions! I have a friend who has family-ties to Jehovah’s Witnesses who I am going to forward these to!
