Isobar hosted its first San Francisco “Isobar Create” accelerator event in December 2011. Isobar Create32 is Silicon Valley's first and largest competition of its kind to explore the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology inside next generation consumer devices like the Google Nexus S and Nokia N9. Like Isobar Create48 in Boston, the event is designed specifically to explore Near Field Communications (NFC) from a consumer-centric standpoint. This pivotal 32-hour hackathon, judged by experts from Google, Founders Den, eBay, PayPal, T-Mobile and Samsung, challenged developers, designers, entrepreneurs and startups to create like-never-before experiences using NFC.
Isobar Create32 was part of APPNATION III, which brings together thousands of developers, carriers, product/service providers, buyers and investors to discuss the rapidly growing global app ecosystem and the unending stream of emerging tools and technologies.
Isobar Create32 drew more than 40 "creatives and creators" and produced seven working prototypes in 32 hours. Here's a closer look at the event and the groundbreaking prototypes that were developed.
