Look Smarter with New Incisive Debug Message Analysis

Structured debug messages (SDMs) allow users to perform advanced transaction-level debug by linking together transactions throughout their environment. Each message can be linked to a specific transaction or a parent transaction. SDMs also allow users to better visualize transactions in the waveform viewer, console window, and transaction stripe chart. Users can better highlight frames and their related lower level packets (if performing segmentation) together as a transaction family or highlight input-to-output related transactions.

The SmartLog is a new message analysis tool that allows for more advanced analysis of messages/SDMs in the user environment. Users can find related transactions, filter based on time/scope, message text, view source code snippets, and see full attribute information on recorded SDM transactions.

What the registrant will learn:

  1. SDM-specific examples, migration from existing messages, and general methodology guidelines
  2. Benefits of using SmartLog functionality
  3. A visualization tool that enables advanced analysis of SDMs
  4. Easily filter, search log messages, and change verbosity without re-running the simulation
  5. New tips and tricks in the SimVision debug tool to improve your current debug cycles

Who should attend:

  • Verification engineers, verification leads, designers, and managers interested in improving their debug productivity and predictability
  • Verification engineers interested in finding out how SDMs can be used in the e language and how its usage can boost verification productivity
  • Design and verification engineers / managers / CAD managers
  • Cadence® Incisive® Enterprise Simulator users
