Nepal Earthquake: How You Can Help
We have all seen the heart-wrenching images from Nepal of the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the Kathmandu Valley.
My thoughts are with everyone affected, in particular the friends and families of thousands of people killed and injured.
Prajol, 10 years old, is one of many survivors seeking shelter
Eight million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The United Nations is on the ground working around the clock to help survivors through these difficult times -- delivering critical supplies, including hospital tents, food, shelter, as well as search and rescue capacity and medical teams.
But much more is needed and every donation and show of support matters.
UN agencies are rushing to deliver supplies to survivors
Here are some ways you can help:
- Take a look at the guide to making a contribution from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
- Help the World Food Programme’s efforts to reach the 1.4 million people in need of emergency food assistance.
- Support the UN Refugee Agency in their work for the millions of people left without a home.
- Help UNICEF meet the urgent needs of the nearly one million children in need.
Now is the time for us to come together and help our fellow global citizens in their hour of need.

8yWe have demands because we are living. We are creating business opportunities because we have demands. We have jobs because we have business opportunities. We can live well with our materials on our demand because we have our jobs. We have a loving job because we can find it in numerous demands. We are satisfied because our demands can be fulfilled and live with dignity. We have rational resource allocation because our materials are built to our demands. We are living better because because we are paid to provide our demand one day if we are all respected as well as our demands. It is a cycle. It's nature balance. It is civilized. Everyone can live better as God design.
