Ok, so here’s a test of the power of a newsletter, and what a silly idea for August when people are maybe and often hot, on vacation, or heading into back-to-school season?  But we’re super excited about this new Youtube channel and Rate It Green can earn some new channel management tools if we get a few more subscribers!  We need less than 5 Subscribers - thanks to those of you who already responded!

If you’re on Youtube, please Subscribe to Rate It Green's Youtube Channel! (click the red “Subscribe” button!)

Let’s see how many people can help grow our subscribership (not a word, really?) - and if you’re the 100th person, let us know so we can say thanks!

Check out our first 15 Rate It Green green building videos below.  Is your company featured?  If not, get in touch and let’s discuss.  There’s no green building product, service, or topic we can’t cover - the sky is literally the limit, and I am really enjoying watching and learning.  If there’s something you want building and green building expert Matt Hoots to interview someone about or talk about, let us know.

Apparently, “reenergization" apparently isn’t a word?  Well, it is now.  In recent weeks, Matt and I “attended” Greenprints and NESEA’s BuildingEnergy20 together.  We heard and learned from excellent speakers, and I connected with some great new and old friends and also enjoyed seeing other people connecting and sharing ideas and experiences.  It’s of course great when this kind of effort can be live, and even again in person one day soon. But I want us also to think about how to continue these conversations, and how to share information beyond what can sometimes seem like the “walls” of our industry. I definitely felt reenergized participating in all kinds of great conversations at these online events.  And I appreciated that both NESEA and Southface Institute held their events online instead of canceling to try and keep connecting and learning going in these unbelievable times.  At the final NESEA BE20 session, many people had gathered by Zoom to hear about next year’s conference and leadership, and to say goodbye.  As we were all signing off, one person who shall remain nameless said, “But I don’t want to say goodbye!” How fantastic, that still makes me smile big.

You know I am going to say we can keep the storytelling and example and expertise and news sharing going through Rate It Green.  When you post a Discussion or to a Group, or share an an Article, we promote that content and bring you readers, maybe some people who might never otherwise been able to learn from you.  And we’re going to curate that content to make it easier for more people to find your thoughts.  If you want to see more active groups and discussions, we can facilitate these conversations as well. Dip your toes in and share a lesson learned or advice or a question.  Send in your News for our feed.  Lets test our ability to promote all the information you can share!

Enjoy these last days of August, and if I or Matt can be of help, we’re ready to answer your questions or amplify your news and views.

Thank you,
Allison
