Dear Healthcare Providers / Complementary Health Approaches Providers / Researchers,
This study is the first phase of a four-phase research project aiming to adapt and validate a questionnaire to help healthcare providers and researchers to assess the use of Complementary Health Approaches (CHA) by children and adolescents with cancer (CAWC).
The aim of this study is to reach a consensus on the content of an adapted questionnaire (called "Which Health Approaches and Treatment are you Using?" or WHAT questionnaire). The WHAT questionnaire was developed to assess CHA use in children with Juvenile idiopathic arthritis using two versions: 1) a child self-report (or Youth Version), and (2) a parent proxy-report of the child CHA use (or Parent Version).
For this purpose, this survey asks you to provide your opinion on the content of the WHAT questionnaire (i.e., domains and questions). A domain is a general topic related to CHA use. Each domain includes a series of questions (or items) that are included in the questionnaire. In this survey, we ask whether the WHAT domains and questions are important for use by CAWC and their parents. Also, this survey asks if you think that there are important domains or questions are missing from the current versions of the questionnaire. The WHAT questionnaire will be modified based on the results of this study.
This survey takes about 25-30 minutes to complete. At the end of this survey, you will be asked if you would like to complete another online survey after three weeks, in case the consensus is not reached by the end of this first round of the survey.
Thank you kindly for considering our survey request, and please let us know if you have any questions at: m.alqudimat@mail.utoronto.ca
With kind regards,
The Research Team
