WE BELIEVE

  • Living a life is storytelling. As an artist and content creator YOU are THE EXPERIENCE, THE STORY, THE MEDIUM to share.

FACTS

  • The creative market is the 3rd largest economical market in EU28 (Ernst & Young 2014); 6.3 million cultural employments or 2.9% of the EU28 labour market, of which 1.11 million in the creative, arts & entertainment industry (NACE 90 code).
  • The EU employs 1.5 million officially registered artists (ISCO 245 code, EU27, 2009).
  • The EU employs 650,000 officially registered musicians (ISCO + NACE codes, EU28, 2014).

versus

  • Facing 1% of musicians are extremely well paid (an extra 4% have a good wage) vs. 95% are underpaid (50% of them earn €9,000 a year and below).
  • Facing 50% of qualified artists quit their career after 4 years due to a lack of sustainable revenues.

This is a bottleneck for the European creative economy and for the independent music business in particular, isn’t it?

We persistently believe independent / DIY music artists and bands shall obtain (y)our plain support! Let’s offer (y)our musicians the focus they deserve: freedom of creativity and artistic expression. Therefore, we think of a transformation in fan-idol-fan relationship building & management, in engagement (cf. reward-based co-participation, co-creation, co-promotion) and in recurrent funding (cf. monthly ‘pay what you feel’ subscriptions) supported by superfans.

We nurture a vision: for this ‘constantly connected’, open (data) and ‘access over ownership’ digital era we’re living in, we are still convinced online collaborations won’t last without offline participations and relationships, and vice versa.

We also observe our human brain needs a well structured visual content flow to effectively absorb the overflow of information provided by the Internet.

According to the boom of the sharing and gift economy it’s becoming clear that people - generally Generations Z and Y, the millennials - are experiencing a mind shift in how to efficiently contribute to a more transparent and responsible community driven society. They wanna have impact by changing old economic systems and by taking ownership of change.

Last but not least, we see the ever growing popularity of the ‘personal branding’ through ‘lifelog’ systems (cf. life journals). Look at this trend by means of daytime registering APPs and smartwatches and their connected communities you inform of how you’re living your personal life. On the other hand, we are noticing the deep concerns about privacy and data ownership as well (cf. GDPR).

Hence, the next generation of a social network will be an on- and offline contextualized ‘vertical’ serving a niche market, a locally inspired ‘marketplace’ with social impact as a purpose, one that improves your personal buzz and brand by monitoring your actions and contributions, that shares your engagement, that offers you recognition within your community, and that values privacy and data ownership as a main asset. This model is a two-sided market network.
