Our Junior High Winter Camp (grades 6 to 8), will be on Feb. 16-18 at the Blue Theology Mission Station at the Christian Church of Pacific Grove, 442 Central Ave., Pacific Grove -- half a block from the ocean. We will spend a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and learn about how God loves the ocean and wants us to love it better. We will sleep two nights (Saturday and Sunday) at the church and take part in Sunday morning worship. We will do some service projects like beach cleanups, native plant restoration, citizen science. We can plan other events like communion on the beach, hikes at Point Lobos State Park, a visit to our local lighthouse, oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the west coast, 1851, a great symbol of light in the darkness, help for those in a storm, etc. Rev. Deborah Streeter, UCC minister authorized to do Blue Theology (ocean stewardship and spirituality) will be our guide. Deborah has been a volunteer guide at the Aquarium and Point Lobos for 20 years. Jesus walked by the sea and called his disciples to "fish for people." Come and Sea!
