About this movie

200 farmers occupy a last plot of pristine land in California’s urban East Bay, plant 15,000 seedlings to feed the community and disrupt plans to convert the public land into a private real estate development. What happens next will change the fate of the land and reveal a new strategy for activism.

Important message with all sides considered. Details of the events are presented in an engaging manner. As rural farmers we viewed the struggles of urban farmers to be able to access land and fresh food with great interest.

I can't believe UC Berkeley fought so hard to take these farmers down! This is a story of David vs Goliath with a interesting twist. I was shocked that UC would rather support researchers in GMO corn production for private companies, than students advocating education and research in urban farming. This is a movie for parents to show their kids. If anything, the documentary shows that if we want healthy local food options we are going to have to FIGHT for every inch of it. Kudos to the director for bringing this positive story of the Occupy Movement to the surface. It really shows how small successes add up to big change.
